Doctoral studies under § 54 par. 1 of the Act ends with the defense of the dissertation. It demonstrates the ability and readiness by a doctoral student for a separate scientific and creative activity in the field of research or development. The workplace is the CPU workplace or its components (e.g. Department or Institute) that creates a student's basic material and technical conditions for the development of final thesis. The training workplace may also cooperate with an external entity on the basis of a written agreement with CPU (a private company, state or public organization, etc.). Final thesis is a separate student's work carried out under the management of the trainer designated by the Study Field Commission; In the case of an external trainer head of the training workplace designates the student a consultant from employees. Dissertation work proposals are published through the CPU Academic Information System in the deadline for the timetable for the academic year concerned. The head of training workplace and trainers in a given study program are responsible for publishing topics. The student applies for the dissertation through AIS. Applicant has to participate in entrance exam for the given study programme. Doctoral student elaborates the dissertation thesis as a rule in Slovak language. With the consent of the Dean, the chairman of the Study Field Commission the student may submit a dissertation in other than Slovak language. In this case, the resume in the Slovak language (min. 20 pages) is a compulsory part of the dissertation. The elaboration of the dissertation is covered by the Rector's directive No.17 / 2011 on the final, rigorous and habilitation works, as amended. The recommended range of dissertation is 80 - 120 pages (144,000 - 216,000 characters). Pictures, schemes, tables are not included in the text and are listed in the attachment. Recommended font size for the standard text is 11-12 and is uniform across work. Suggested settings: Line 1.5, edges: 3.5 cm, right 2 cm, top and bottom 2.5 cm, portrait orientation, A4 format.
The brief summary of the dissertation thesis contains a brief summary of its basic results, defining its benefit. It is processed and printed in A5 in the range of no more than 24 pages and presented in the Slovak language with summary in world language. A list of literary outputs is a list of all published works of doctoral student related to the issues examined as well as responses to them. At least one opponent must be the bearer of the scientific-pedagogical title Professor (to carry out a professor´s function) or to be a scientific degree doctor or researcher with a qualifying degree. Information systems (IS)
1. Academic information system (AIS) is used for evidence of complex information on the study programme – study plans, information sheets, scientific/artistic pedagogical characteristics of emploees, evidence and information on the study course – admission procedure, student´s and teacher´s timetable, the course and results of study, final works, state exams. By means of an anonymous questionnaire publicly available in AIS assessment of educational process as well as teachers is implemented. By means of AIS data are provided into the Central Students Registry and Central Final Works Registry. On the level of management, AIS serves as the source for teaching reporting and for the measurement of educational performance of workplaces and their employees. Information collected in AIS serve also as fundamental source for accreditation andcreation of a study offer.
2. Viedoconferencing system (meet.sk) – https://meet.ukf.sk/ - serves for provision of distance education, examination and evaluation of students, including realization of state exams, online consultancy and other activities related to the study.
3.Accomodation is solved by means of an independent module UIS (Accomodation system, https://uis.ukf.sk/) and ensured by the connection to AIS and LDAP of the university.
4. Library information system (KIS) https://kis.ukf.sk/opacXE - ensures activities of the University Library. Evidence of publication activities is operated within the Library information system, while allowing for accessing the personal publication activity by each employee both on the level of inserting records into the system as well as acquiring publication and citation outputs. Obtained data serve as a source for evaluation of employees and workplaces in the area of publication outputs and at the same time they represent a source ofr the Central Registry of Publication Activity.
5.System for document management (DOC) serves as an authorized zone for employees and students of the university and along with the intranet part of the website it provides access to current documents (internal rules of the university and faculties, forms, rector´s decisions, deans´ decisions (e.g. in the area of scholarships), software (licensed as well as freely accessible), work materials of managing units etc.
6.E-learning portal (EDU) https://edu.ukf.sk/ – serves as full replacement of the full-time form of education. It sevres to students, educationalists, scientific employees but also to management of individual workplaces of the university.
7.CPU Portal – which is formed by several modules, which include data on basic characteristics of employees appearing in public employee directory, performance indicators of publication, artistic, project and other activities of employees.
8.Registry (REG) - https://uis.ukf.sk/
9.Catering system - https://www.stravovanie.ukf.sk/
10.Goods Ordering System (OSYS) –
ttps://osys.ukf.sk:4443/osys/users/login/?u=%2Fosys%2F
11.Attendance System (Watt) - https://watt.ukf.sk/
12.Occupational Portal (ESS) - https://portal.ukf.sk/kvalita/index.php?r=site/login
13.Web mail for employees and students - https://posta.ukf.sk/webmail/
14.University web - https://www.ukf.sk/
All information systems communicate with the user through a secure channel. In order to facilitate access and minimise the possibilities of access data theft, central authentication has been deployed which, through LDAP, stores access data of both staff and students and allows for verification at the request of all information systems. The system is linked to the financial and personnel system (SOFIA) so that the employee is automatically blocked from access to the systems and objects of the university when he/she terminates his/her employment and vice versa, when he/she is admitted. An important step presented at the university level was to participate in the Eduroam project, the basic idea of which is to allow students and academic staff to connect to a computer network at another academic institution without having to register or obtain access data. A network connection requires only the user name and password that the user uses in the home institution. We anticipate the use by both university visitors and our students and staff. The university's presentation is provided externally by its website.
For the needs of higher education and accreditation resulting from todays period of accreditation, courses for distance education were created on the educational portals of CPU, taking into account the needs and specificities of students and teachers of the Department of P.E. & Sports Faculty of Education CPU. ECU educational portals: EDU (https://edu.ukf.sk/?lang=sk) and Elearn (http://elearning.ktvs.pf.ukf.sk/) are characterized by the form of asynchronous and synchronous education and WEB based learning. New opportunities of fully synchronous education in the real time are provided by the university system Meet (https://meet.ukf.sk/) and MS Teams (https://portal.office.com), whoich have been implemented in individual departments and are fully depenent on technical provision of both educators and students.
On-line education at the Department of P.E. & Sports is predominantly focusing on those courses, which are formed on theoretical basis, or which are typical by acquiring theoretical knowledge and skills.
It is possible to realize e-learning courses on various levels of progress. It is possible to fully realize courses on the level of databases, didactic on-line support, asynchronous and partly also synchronous education. Lecturer can decide on the realization of online courses or courses in a combined form (e.g. on-line instruction complemented by practical seminaries in a gym). The form, for which the particular lecturer makes decision, comes out of the internal importance and focus of the course. The centre of attention can be directed from lectures to seminaries and vice versa. We are based on the type of course and the subsidy of lessons in the study programme.
The student has (after registering and being allowed to enter the course by the lecturer) detailed information about the course (goal, information sheet, recommended literature, credit requirements, credit dates, etc.) and the study room (lectures, tasks, attachments and tests in each lesson). In addition to this offer, students have the opportunity to contact the lecturer publickly via a virtual dashboard, which is at the end of each lesson, chat and video-conferencing. Separate contact with the lecturer is solved via email. Personal contact takes place within consultation hours or in the case of combined courses at seminars or lectures.
Students at the Dept. of P.E. & Sports are offered support elearning courses for compulsory (P), compulsory optional (PV) and optional courses (V).
The Department has no partners in the provision of educational activities of the programme.
Nitra is one of the oldest Slovak cities, the beginnings of its settlement date back to prehistoria, as documented by numerous archaeological findings on the territory of the city. It was the seat of the Principality of Nitra and survived its greatest glory in the times of the Great Moravian Empire. The work of Prince Pribina, King Svätopluk and the arrival of the Thessaloniki brothers Constantine and Methodius are associated with Nitra. That is why university life is an intersection of historical traditions and modern trends in contemporary life. Nitra University Days, which take place at the turn of April and May on the premises of both universities under the auspices of the Rectors and the Mayor of Nitra, can be among the most famous events organized by the CPU student parliament in cooperation with the university. The largest student project with a long tradition, which the Student Parliament implements in cooperation with the university, is the Student Days of Nitra Universities, on the occasion of Student Day (November 17th). Other activities of the Student Parliament include organizing Octoberfest (sports and music events at the beginning of the academic year), boarding football league (competition in indoor football of students in Students Dormitories at Zobor) or publication of the magazine "Občas Nečas".
Culture In the premises of the Student Home Nitra there is a University Creative Studio. It is an integrating cultural point of students of the university and their artistic bodies for the training and realization of stagings, various stage projects and cultural events. The studio is also used for pedagogical process (creative workshops, seminars, trainings, workshops) of artistically oriented study programmes within the university. The Ponitran folklore ensemble is the art ensemble with the longest history at the university and focuses on traditional Slovak folklore with a focus on the Ponitria region. The mission of the ensemble is to develop the interest activities of students, to build on the traditional culture of Slovakia, to interpret it artistically and to collect folklore material from various areas of Slovakia, especially from the area of Nitra and Tekov. The VYDI Student Theatre was founded in 1992. During one academic year, it usually takes part in one staging, where students present themselves in front of a home audience at the Faculty of Arts CPU University Creative Studio. Similarly, they participate in various regional tours or thematic festivals. The performance of students in this ensemble is not only related to the creation of theatrical productions, but also to a diverse range of variable activities within the academic year: improligues, stand-up performances, street parades, Nicholas parties, cabarets, imatriculations, beading, workshops, etc.
The civic association "JA and MY" is focusing on the organization of cultural events, exhibitions, concerts, scientific conferences, seminars, discussion forums, roundtables, workshops, as well as the preparation and organization of alternative art projects in a nationwide and international context with an emphasis on promoting the region's all-round artistic development. The association supports emerging artists, publicists and umenovers in order to enable them to publicly present their creative and scientific activities. The association is the most famous organization of the Peter Scherhaufer Festival. The Hungarian Choir CPU successfully represents the university at domestic and foreign concert stages, choir festivals and competitions. At the individual year of the nationwide qualifying competition of the Kodály day choirs in Galanta, it regularly receives the Golden Band award. The choir regularly performs and aims to grow and further revive the Kodály traditions as well as the dissemination of Hungarian choral culture, primarily in the circle of university youth. Faculty of Central European Studies, UKF is currently responsible for the choir.
Sport
Sports activities of CPU students focus on collective sports in addition to individual performances of students. An important position is held by the Association of Sports Clubs CPU in Nitra, which includes the four sports sections: volley project CPU Nitra, BKM Junior CPU Nitra, Taekwon-Do CPU NITRA and the hockey team Philosophers Nitra. Spiritual Enjoyment

When attracting foreign students, special attention will also be paid to the acquisition of foreign students of Slovak nationality and other students who have the potential to study in Slovak or other language in which study programmes are carried out at the university (e.g. from Ukraine, Serbia and Hungary). As part of this effort, the university will also consider organizing summer schools of Slovak language or other activities to promote the integration of foreign students into study in the Slovak language. A prerequisite for the expansion of internationalisation is the provision of education also in foreign languages, primarily in English, also using the potential of visiting foreign professionals. This applies not only to foreign students, but also to domestic students. Part of this process is also the possibility of drawing up final works in a foreign language. In the presence of foreign lecturers, the special emphasis will be given on lectures for doctoral students.
Any student duly enrolled in a CPU study programme can apply for Erasmus+ mobility (study stay). Erasmus study stay cannot be completed by a student of the 1st year of Bc. study, but as a freshman he/she can apply and be approved to stay in the next academic year. A student studying at a Slovak university but residing outside the Slovak Republic cannot participate in mobility in the country in which he/she resides. During the studies, students have the opportunity to participate in Erasmus+ mobility at each stage of his/her studies for a maximum of 12 months. In determining the entitlement to the length of the planned Erasmus+ mobility, account is taken of previous mobility under both the former LLP/Erasmus programme and the current Erasmus+ programme (e.g. mobility through the EU capacity building project, etc.) carried out within the same stage of study in which the student plans to travel to Erasmus+.
For all types of KA107 mobility, there must be a bilateral agreement between CPU and a higher education institution abroad in a partner country (i.e. a non-EU and EEA country). Check the CPU website https://www.ukf.sk/granty/erasmus/erasmus-bilaterarne-dohody for a list of concluded Erasmus+ CPU agreements (list of CPU partner higher education institutions with non-EU and EEA countries in project KA107) indicating the number of participants CPU can send and accept) and, when choosing a mobility location, focus on the higher education institution that has an erasmus+ agreement with CPU for the field of study, degree of study and offers similar or identical subjects of the study focus as he/she should have in a given semester of mobility at CPU. It is not possible to take mobility at a higher education institution with which CPU does not have an Erasmus+ agreement. One can choose mobility at 1 higher education institution, while the CPU Department that concluded the Erasmus+ bilateral agreement will nominate the student for it or not. If the application is approved, one can take a study stay at a partner higher education institution abroad in the semester of his/her choice (the semester of stay is indicated in the application form). Mobility can take up to as many months as indicated in erasmus+ bilateral agreement with a partner institution (see above list of Erasmus+ CPU agreements concluded).
To sign in:
1. Download and fill in the application form "Erasmus student mobility application" on the CPU website https://www.ukf.sk/granty/erasmus/studijny-pobyt-krajiny-mimo-eu-a-ehp . Print the application form once and sign.
2. Please attach to the above application: signed CV in SJ, Motivation letter in Slovak language and in a foreign language (in which you will communicate during mobility abroad) and Student's consent to the processing of personal data (you can also find a model of consent on the CPU website).
3. Submit the application and all annexes in one original to the CPU Departmental Coordinator by the deadline set by him/her.
4. The departmental coordinator shall complete all applications of candidates and subsequently write and implement the selection procedure (hereinafter paragraph III) and notify the student of its outcome.
Selection procedure:
The Departmental Erasmus Coordinator is obliged to draw up and implement a selection procedure (including the publication of selection criteria) for filling erasmus+ places of study, up to the number of places listed in erasmus+ agreement with a partner higher education institution. The conditions that the Departmental Commission will assess in the selection are set by the Department itself (most often the study average, knowledge of a foreign language, student achievements at the students scientific activity competition, representing CPU at home/abroad, membership in the ESN CPU section and other student organisations, etc.). The selection procedure for study stay must be completed by all registered students.
A list of all students nominated and rejected by the Department for erasmus+ study stay to a specific partner institution abroad will be provided by the Department in the Minutes of the Erasmus selection procedure, which will then be printed and signed by the Department. The faculty coordinator (vice-dean for international relations) will set a deadline by which the departmental coordinator will submit to him all minutes together with the documents of the proposed and rejected students and their other documents. The Erasmus Faculty Coordinator checks the minutes and background of students and expresses his/her agreement in writing to the sending of the proposed students directly in the minutes. The documents of all proposed and rejected applicants and the minutes of the Department will be delivered by the Erasmus Faculty Coordinator to the Coordinator of the Department for International Relations (OMV CPU). The OMV shall keep the originals of these documents for its records.
OMV UKF will process the list of faculty of confirmed applicants and submit it for approval to the Institutional Erasmus coordinator, who will approve the study stay of the confirmed students (up to a maximum of the student quotas set under the KA107 project for individual partner institutions and countries) and the length of their mobility in months. The list of students approved for Erasmus+ study stay under this project KA107 will be published by the OMV UKF coordinator on the UKF website https://www.ukf.sk/granty/erasmus/studijny-pobyt-krajiny-mimo-eu-a-ehp
As soon as mobility is approved, you will receive the Erasmus+ Charter. Erasmus+ Charter summarizes your student rights and obligations and informs you what to expect from both the receiving and sending institutions. The Charter is divided into 3 parts (before mobility, during mobility, after the end of mobility) and assists you in ediating your mobility. The Student Charter is also publicly available on the CPU website https://www.ukf.sk/granty/erasmus/studijny-pobyt-krajiny-mimo-eu-a-ehp
Once you have found your name in the list of CPU students approved for an Erasmus+ KA107 study stay, check the website of a partner higher education institution abroad for which you have been approved for an Erasmus+ study stay. You can find the website of the receiving institution in the list of Erasmus+ CPU agreements. On the website of the receiving institution, search for, print out, complete and have the following forms compulsory for Erasmus+ students to be signed by the Department and Faculty of CPU:
§ Application Form
§ Learning Agreement for Studies /Study Agreement (also published on the CPU website)
§ Transcript of Records/up-to-date Extract of results from study at CPU (instead of Extract from Bc or Mgr study, a copy of the Diploma Supplement with a list of subjects completed)
§ other specific forms (e.g. Housing Application Form, Language Application Form, etc. if the receiving institution has and requests to complete them). During mobility abroad, you must obtain at least ECTS 20 per semester of mobility, i.e. ECTS 20 if mobility lasts one semester and ECTS 40 if mobility lasts a full academic year. In doing so, you must complete and bring results from the subjects you introduce to the Learning Agreement. If the requirement to obtain a minimum of ECTS 20 per semester is not met, CPU will ask you to return the proportional part of the grant. You will be obliged to pass the missing items you were not able to pass at the receiving institution, at your mother institution. The extract of the results must contain a list of all subjects completed at UKF by the deadline for submitting the extract. The extract must be issued in English - it will be issued to you by the study department of your faculty from AIS CPU. Instead of an Extract from Bc or Mgr study, you can provide a copy of the Diploma Supplement with a list of completed subjects (no need to notarized). Bilateral cooperation agreements define the framework and form the basis for creative cooperation between UKF sites and faculties, the scope of bilateral cooperation activities being defined by the following key areas:
• involvement in joint work in the field of education and science;
• creating the necessary conditions for the exchange of pedagogical and researchers and students,
• exchange of scientific works and results of scientific work,
• joint scientific research activities,
• public publication of the results of scientific work,
• cooperation on scientific projects,
• joint organisation of scientific events (conferences, seminars, symposia),
• creation of joint study programmes (so-called Joint Degree/Double Degrees) Diploma).
Study-lecture stays, which are carried out on the basis of bilateral cooperation agreements between the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra and the foreign partner institutions listed in the Annex, allow the exchange of employees (and in some cases students) between the CPU in Nitra and a partner institution abroad for short mobility. The financing of study-lecture stays depends on the conditions set out in a specific bilateral agreement with a partner institution abroad. CP University has concluded approximately 150 bilateral agreements with various universities and educational institutions, others are concluded at the level of individual faculties and departments.

Part of the evaluation of the quality of provided education are students who are involved in the process of creating, approving and monitoring study programmes. Persons responsible for the implementation, development and quality of study programmes, teachers, study advisors actively communicate with students of individual study programmes, reassess their attitudes towards study programmes, study subjects. Subsequently, the reflection of students becomes the starting point for innovations in the content and structure of study programmes through innovations of recommended resources, conditions of completion of the course.
Under Act No 131/2002 on Higher Education, CPU students have the possibility to evaluate the study programme and the education process once a year through anonymous questionnaires. This right of the student is also incorporated in the CPU Study Rules and guided by Directive 8/2018 Principles of Evaluation of Education and Teachers by University Students. Feedback is provided by students through an anonymous electronic questionnaire made available through the Academic Information System. The evaluation has been carried out continuously since 2014. Students have the opportunity to express their views on the following indicators of the quality of the educational process in the winter and summer semesters: study programme, study subject, implementation of education, evaluation of students teaching, professional and didactic competence of teachers, study resources to support student education, material and technical provision of teaching. Each area in the questionnaire is covered by several items that gives a more comprehensive picture of the area being evaluated. Organisation of the evaluation process is provided by individual faculties in cooperation with students involved in evaluating results. At the Faculty of Education of the CPU, activation for the conduct of evaluation by students in the AIS is ensured by means of student e-mails from the position of a member of the student part of the academic senate.
The following areas are evaluated:
• the proportion of students who participated in the evaluation of teaching quality and study program teachers out of the total number of students and the degree of student satisfaction,
• the degree of student satisfaction with the quality of teaching and teachers,
• the degree of student satisfaction with specific needs,
• the number of student complaints submitted under the Complaints Directive.
The Academic Information System (AiS2) and other electronic platforms are used to gather information from stakeholders. All information obtained about the study program, as well as proposals for possible measures, are usually published in the report on pedagogical activities for the relevant year.
The individual structures of the management of the faculty workplaces are informed about the results of the evaluation of the quality of education. Based on the evaluation of individual areas and identified shortcomings, measures are proposed and taken at the level of individual departments, then at the faculty level. The measures taken as well as the overall results of the evaluation of education are being presented by the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Education of the CPU, they are part of the Annual Report of the Faculty presented at the meeting of academia, the Scientific Council and published on its website.
The fundamental comments and identified shortcomings are a source of action to improve the quality of education at the FE. In addition to innovations in the content of study programmes and recommended literature, the workplace focuses mainly on improving material and information provision of education.
The university obtains information about the success of its graduates by using several forms. Through the club alumni, the organisation of further education and rigorous proceedings for graduates, the organisation of courses, trainings, e.g. in projects supported by the ESF. Many former graduates of study programmes cooperate with the faculty as training teachers. Graduates are invited to various professional events and conferences organized by faculty or university. In 2020, the Faculty of Education of the CPU carried out an online questionnaire survey of faculty graduates aimed at finding satisfaction with the conduct of state examinations, which were carried out in a distance form (ONLINE) due to the pandemic.
Monitoring of graduate employment is carried out by the Faculty through direct communication with representatives of practice (e.g. management of primary and secondary schools and the city of Nitra), direct communication of the Department of Pedagogical Practice of FE CPU with representatives of training schools and school facilities, communication through social networks as well as communication at professional-methodological events of methodologists with representatives of schools and other institutions. The opinions of graduates about their professional path are published on the website of the faculty and university, in the media and presentation materials of the faculty and university.
