8. - Spatial, material, and technical provision of the study programme and support
a) - List and characteristics of the study programme classrooms and their technical equipment with the assignment to learning outcomes and courses (laboratories, design and art studios, studios, workshops, interpreting booths, clinics, priest seminaries, science and technology parks, technology incubators, school enterprises, practice centers, training schools, classroom-training facilities, sports halls, swimming pools, sports grounds).

The study programme in question is carried out in lecture and (specialised) seminar rooms equipped with computers with installed relevant software and other didactic aids. By default, lecture rooms are equipped with a desktop computer with Internet connection, a data projector, a projector screen, a white and interactive boards and a lectern; large lecture rooms are also equipped with a sound system with fixed or wireless microphone. Key large lecture rooms are also equipped with a system for recording and broadcasting lectures. This technology, apart from promoting an e-learning form of teaching, increases the accessibility of content and also increases possibilities for the promotion and communication with the general public. For this reason, TV panels were installed in the common areas, displaying recorded individual lectures, leisure time events or live streams from lecture rooms.

Seminar rooms are also equipped with a sound system, a workstation connected to the Internet, a data projector, a white board and specialised teaching aids. The maintenance and continuous upgrading and replacement of the material and technical equipment is financed mainly from structural funds and research projects, trying to ensure their continuous up-to-datedness, flawless operation/performance and adequate ratio for a given number of students.

The spatial provision of the doctoral study programme Archaeology is implemented in three areas: 1. Workspace for doctoral students was created in teachers’ offices. 2. Doctoral students carry out teaching and consultation activities at the Department’s address - Hodžova street 1. 3. Teaching activities carried out by doctoral students take place in lecture rooms and seminar rooms, which are located in the buildings at Hodžova Street 1 and Štefánikova Street 67. The teaching is therefore carried out in two buildings, which are 150 m apart (max. 5 minutes by walk), that is why there are no problems when students are going from one building to the other

The room on the third floor of the building at Hodžova Street - room 308 with benches with a capacity of 24 people and an area of 46.15 m2 - is primarily used for lectures and seminars. If necessary, a smaller room can be used for the seminars - the archaeological laboratory with tables at Štefánikova Street, a capacity of 6 people and an area of 14 m2.

All teaching rooms are equipped with school furniture, teaching aids and Internet connection as standard.

The Department of Archaeology is located in the building of the Faculty of Arts, CPU in Nitra at Hodžova Street No. 1 on the third floor. The secretariat of the Department and its staff have 3 office rooms in this building, 5 desktop computers, 8 laptops, 8 external hard drives, 2 data projectors, 4 multifunctional devices (printer, copier, scanner), 5 printers, 2 scanners, 1 binder, 1 cutter, 1 shredder, 1 external burner. All rooms have a telephone connection and all computers at the Department are connected to the Internet, which allows mutual communication as well as communication with students and the public at a level corresponding to the current standard. Communication with students and the public also takes place via the Department’s website: (http://www.karch.ff.ukf.sk/index.php/sk/) and the fanpage of the Department created on the social network (https://www.facebook.com/KatedraArcheologieFFUKFvNitre/).

The Department of Archaeology has another office room (archaeological laboratory) in the main building of the Faculty of Arts, CPU at Štefánikova Street. It is a glass room on the ground floor of the building with an area of 14 m2. This room is equipped with three desks, a desktop computer and research microscopes, one of which is equipped with a device for documenting observed objects - a drawing mirror. It serves mainly as a laboratory for processing archaeologico-environmental findings. The study programme of archaeology is realized in lecture rooms and/or seminar rooms, which are located in the building on Hodžova street No. 1 in Nitra. Lectures are held mostly in lecture rooms in the building at Hodžova Street No. 1 (room H308 - classroom, capacity: 24 seats, benches and chairs, area of 46.15 m2; room H 307 (Acropola), capacity: 80 seats, fixed benches and folding chairs, area of 157 m2). All lecture rooms are equipped with data projectors, which are connected to computers and sound system. Seminars and laboratory exercises take place in the building at Hodžova Street No. 1 (room H 308, capacity: 24 seats, benches and chairs, area of 46.15 m2) - the room is equipped with a computer, data projector, five student stereoscopic magnifiers with lighting and two laboratory digital scales.     Students of the study programme have at their disposal the University Library of CPU, with its registered office at Dražovská cesta 4, Nitra. Opening hours: Monday - Friday 9.00 a.m. - 8.00 p.m., Saturday 8.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. The library’s mission is to ensure free access to information disseminated on all types of media through library and information services, meeting the cultural, information, scientific research and educational needs of users, promoting lifelong learning and the spiritual development of people. The library provides library services (interlibrary, consulting, reference, bibliographic and search services) to teachers, researchers and students, as well as to the general public. In addition, it preserves and bibliographically registers qualification theses of students, research and pedagogical staff of CPU and the publishing and artistic activities of teachers, researchers and doctoral students of CPU. The CPU library collection currently registers approximately 230,000 items, of which the fund of the University Library itself represents about 168,960 items and the other part of the library fund is located in sub-libraries at individual workplaces of the University. The library collection is freely accessible. The library has access to licensed information resources within the national NISPEZ project (Gale Virtual Reference Library, Knovel Library, ProQuest Central, Science Direct, Scopus, Springer Link, Web of Knowledge, Wiley Online Library and EBSCO Publishing). There are also three study rooms at the University Library: at Dražovská cesta 4, Hodžova Street 1 and Kraskova Street 1. The study rooms offer free access to compulsory literature. Users are informed about the library’s services and activities on the library’s website www.uk.ukf.sk. The collection of the library is processed in the DAWINCI library and information system and the library collection is accessible via an online catalogue. The library provides Internet access and sells scripts and publications published by CPU in Nitra in its shop. The library’s premises provide wireless Internet access.

The Department of Archaeology has a study room at Hodžova Street 1 which is a part of the CPU University Library and the Departmental study room in the building of the Slovak Academy of Sciences at Akademická 2 in Nitra. The study room contains more than 3,000 books and 1,500 journals, which are regularly updated based on the suggestions of the Department’s staff to enable students to follow the latest knowledge and trends in the field. Funds for the purchase of books are obtained mainly from grants. Students also have at their disposal the following periodicals: Slovenská archeológia, Študijné Zvesti of the Institute of Archaeology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Nitra, Archeologické výskumy a nálezy na Slovensku, Germania, Zborník of the Slovak National Museum, Acta Archaeologica Brunensia, Archeologie východních Čech, Živá archeologie and many others. There are also scientific papers and published outputs of members of the Department, master’s and bachelor’s theses, etc. The Department of Archaeology cooperates with the Department of History in publishing the international scientific journal Studia Historica Nitriensia (until 2012 published as a proceeding on an annual basis), through which the professionals and students can get acquainted not only with the current work of the staff of the Department, but also with works from other domestic and foreign departments.

The departmental study room in the building of the Slovak Academy of Sciences also serves as an occasional lecture room. For this reason, it is equipped with a data projector, screen, tables and 20 chairs.

b) - Characteristics of the study programme information management (access to study literature according to Course information sheets, access to information databases and other information sources, information technologies, etc.).

Characteristics of the study programme information management (access to study literature according to Course information sheets, access to information databases and other information sources, information technologies, etc.).

CPU uses a number of proven, modernized existing and new information systems providing information to support management in the following areas:

The complete educational agenda at CPU is ensured via the Academic Information System (AIS). The system processes data related to the education of a specific student from the moment of submitting their application for university studies, through the record keeping of study results to the record keeping and printing of education documents. In addition to the study results, it also contains records of final theses, class schedule and student enrolment on classes. Data from AIS are uploaded to the Central Register of Students and the Central Register of Theses and Dissertations. At the management level, AIS serves as a resource for reporting teaching activities and measuring the educational performance of departments/institutes and their employees. The information collected in AIS is the fundamental source of information for the accreditation and creation of the offer of study programmes.

Document Management System (DOC) serves as an authorized zone for employees and students of the university and, along with the intranet section of the website, provides access to current documents (internal regulations of the university and faculty, forms, decisions of the rector, deans, e.g., concerning scholarships, software (licensed and open, working materials of management units, etc.).

Library Information System (KIS) ensures the activities of the University Library. The records of publishing activities are operated within the library information system, while it allows access to publishing activities for each employee both at the level of insertion and at the level of obtaining publication and citation outputs. The obtained data serve as a source for the evaluation of employees and departments in the field of publishing performance and at the same time represent a source for the Central Registry of Publication Activity. Study support is ensured through study materials, which are provided to students through several channels. The primary source is the newly built University Library in the CPU Zobor Campus with its study rooms at Hodžová and Kraskova Streets.

E-learning portals are a secondary source of study materials. In September 2007, LMS Moodle was implemented as a university-wide e-learning portal in a structure corresponding to the structure of the University (faculties divided into departments). The edu.ukf.sk portal is intended to support the teaching of accredited courses. The number of the EDU system users exceeds 13,500 users per year (of which about a third are active users), which can be considered as a smooth promotion of e-learning in the university environment. The successful implementation of structural fund projects which involve the designing of e-learning courses was also another factor.

Within the project NISPEZ, the CPU University Library provided, through CVTI SR, access to the following electronic information databases: SCOPUS, SpringerLink, Wiley Online Library, ProQuest Central, ScienceDirect, Knovel Library, Web of Knowledge - Current Contents Connect (CCC), Web of Knowledge - Essential Science Indicators (ESI), Web of Knowledge - Journal Citation Reports (JCR), Web of Knowledge – MEDLINE, Web of Knowledge - Web of Science (WOS), Web of Knowledge - Korean Journal Database, Web of Knowledge – Russian Science Citation Index, Web of Knowledge - SciELO Citation Index.

Thanks to the cooperation with the Slovak National Library in Martin, the CPU University Library had access to the databases of the American company EBSCO Publishing: Academic Search Complete, Agricola, AHFS Consumer Medication Information, Business Source Premier, ERIC, GreenFile, Health Source – ConsumerEdition, Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition, Humanities International Complete, Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts, MasterFILE Premier, MEDLINE with Full Text, Newspaper Source, Regional Business News, Teacher Reference Centre.

There is an extensive network of specialized ICT-equipped classrooms at CPU. In addition, students have free access to computer boxes in the corridors, virtually in all university buildings. CPU currently has 790 computers for students. Their putting in place and renovation of the existing ones was carried out largely in the period 2010-2012 (but they underwent a complete renovation several times) within the structural funds projects (Modernization of infrastructure to improve the quality of education and Development of infrastructure with a focus on ICT - a condition for education in the 3rd millennium). As part of these projects, more than 100 rooms were equipped with data projectors and workstations connected to them. Specialized classrooms (special language classrooms equipped with software for translators; 2 classrooms equipped with complete interpreting equipment; specialized audiovisual classroom; research, recording and communication centre and university creative studio) were created and equipped.

An important step in the field of e-learning is the integration of a system for recording and broadcasting lectures, which is implemented in 5 lecture rooms at individual faculties. One lecture room equipped in this way is also located on the premises of the Faculty of Arts, CPU in Nitra. This technology, apart from increasing the accessibility of content, also increases possibilities for the promotion and communication with the general public.

The basis of the technical infrastructure of data and telecommunication networks is a 10 Gb/s optical network, built within the framework of structural funds projects (Modernization of infrastructure to improve the quality of education and Development of infrastructure with a focus on ICT - a condition for education in the 3rd millennium). Thanks to the resources from the structural funds, the coverage of the wireless signal has also been expanded and is currently available in all university buildings. CPU currently has 113 wireless access points.

The operation of the computer network and information systems is ensured by several dozens of servers, gradually expanded thanks to resources from the structural funds. At present, information systems run in most cases on virtual systems, which saves energy costs and increases the security of systems against intrusions.

As part of the provision of basic information support for the study, an e-mail system was set up for students at the University’s own expense, through which each student obtains their own e-mail account for official communication with the institution upon enrolment. Students are informed not only by e-mail communication, communication via the websites of departments and distribution of messages in the AIS system, but also via large screens integrated into the information system of the University. This technology was implemented within the project Development of infrastructure with a focus on ICT - a condition for education in the 3rd millennium and its goal is to provide current information, multimedia presentations and presentations of individual departments in the busiest places of the University.

Our participation in the Eduroam project represented a significant modernization, as this infrastructure enables students and academic staff to connect to a computer network at another academic institution without having to register or obtain additional credentials. Therefore, connecting to the network requires only the username and password that the user owns from the home institution. This network can be used by both university visitors and our students and staff during their stays at other universities.

As part of the introduction of the quality of education and research, a superstructure of information systems has been built in recent years, with the aim to map the activity, productivity and results of the University’s creative staff. The construction of this managerial superstructure resulted in closer cooperation between the individual systems and the creation of an integrative portal simplifying access to the individual University information systems.

The main communication channel presenting and promoting the university is the university website. In recent years, it has undergone several changes. In the first phase, the design was changed and clarified, and during the second, a content management tool was implemented, enabling simple and user-friendly content maintenance and updating. Subsequently, the site management system was implemented at the faculties and other units of the University. A secondary information source intended mainly for students is the presentation of the University and Faculty activities on several social networks, which speeds up and makes access to information for the target group faster and more efficient.

In accordance with strategic and operational goals, the CPU employs the following systems, including their value added for managing, storing and evaluating information:

1.     Academic Information System (AIS2) – is currently used to record complex information about the study programme (study plans, course information sheets, academic profiles of teachers and student records, including their admission procedure, studies, final theses and state exams). The CPU also uses the AIS to prepare academic schedules and conduct student evaluations of programmes, teachers and studies. Data from the AIS are uploaded to the Central Register of Students, the Central Register of Theses and Dissertations and the register of universities - PortalVS.sk. At the management level, AIS serves as a resource for reporting teaching activities and measuring the educational performance of departments/institutes and their offer of study programmes. The information collected in AIS is the fundamental source of information for the accreditation and creation of the offer of study programmes.

2.     Document Management (DOC) - (document management system) serves as an authorized zone for employees and students of the university and, along with the intranet section of the website, provides access to current documents (internal regulations of the university and faculty, forms, decisions of the rector, deans, e.g., concerning scholarships, software (licensed and open-source), working materials of management units, etc.).

3.     Education Portal (EDU) - https://edu.ukf.sk

4.     Library Information System (KIS) - https://kis.ukf.sk/opacXE

5.     University Information System (UIS) - https://uis.ukf.sk

6.     Catering Portal - https://www.stravovanie.ukf.sk

7.     Order Management System (oSYS) - https://osys.ukf.sk:4443/osys/users/login/?u=%2Fosys%2F

8.     Accommodation System (UIS) - https://uis.ukf.sk/

9.     Time and Attendance System (Watt) - https://watt.ukf.sk/

10.  Employee Self-service Portal (ESS) - https://portal.ukf.sk/kvalita/index.php?r=site/login

11.  Web mail for employees and students - https://posta.ukf.sk/webmail/

12.  University website - https://www.ukf.sk

All information systems communicate with the user through a secured channel. In order to simplify access and minimize the possibility of credential theft, a system of central authentication has been deployed. It stores the access data of employees and students via LDAP and enables their verification upon request from all information systems.

The system is linked to the financial and personnel system (SOFIA), and thus upon termination of employment the employee’s access to the information systems and facilities of the university is automatically denied and, vice-versa, granted upon onboarding.

Our participation in the Eduroam project represents a significant modernization, as this infrastructure enables students and academic staff to connect to a computer network at another academic institution without having to register or obtain additional credentials. Therefore, connecting to the network requires only the username and password that the user owns from the home institution. This network can be used by both university visitors and our students and staff. The main communication channel presenting and promoting the university is the university website.

CPU has built and continues to innovate its own ICT infrastructure and information systems (IS) that are integrated parts of information support processes with a focus on research, education and management. Their implementation and operation are managed by the University CIKT (Centre for ICT), ensuring compliance with the University long-term intentions and strategic goals. Regarding their application, individual technologies and systems are used as follows: project and task management (IS Projects, SAP system, MIS Performance indicators); teaching and improvement activities support provided at the level of knowledge management (KIS, University library databases, some educational materials are provided by faculty staff via e-learning courses); didactic support and improvement activities (available computer classrooms in each faculty); Internet access (all facilities are almost completely covered by wireless connection and all fixed computers provide Internet connection).

Interaction with students is ensured through AIS, e-mail communication, as well as web presentations of the university, its faculties and other organisational units. In selected periods, the University increasingly promotes its activities and study possibilities by means of print media, workshops and open days. Sharing and providing information at the level of educational content (e-learning, library services, and education management) is accessible nonstop through electronic services. All the university information systems are linked to the unified user management (LDAP) system, allowing access to all systems through the same credentials.

An example of minimizing the environmental burden is the electronic monitoring of time and attendance, incapacity for work, business trips and overtime using contactless chip cards or the Time and Attendance Software (WATT). Another example of minimizing the environmental burden is the Order Management System (oSYS), designed for internal procurement of goods and services within CPU through mass collection of information from individual organisational units with the possibility of approving individual orders in accordance with the hierarchical structure of CPU. Employees may access payslip or other information regarding remuneration in the ESS system.

c) - Characteristics and extent of distance education applied in the study programme with the assignment to courses. Access, manuals of e-learning portals. Procedures for the transition from contact teaching to distance learning.

If necessary, teachers of the study programme use video conferencing systems (especially https://meet.ukf.sk/), as well as the CPU E-learning portal Moodle and other applications (e.g. MS Teams and others.).
