The thesis must be written according to the valid rules of the Slovak language (or the foreign language used). Students of the study programme Theory of Teaching Hungarian Language and Literature shall prepare their dissertation, as a rule, in the Hungarian language. The dissertation has a standard layout and must respect the formal and citation criteria and the principles of reference to literature available on the website https://www.ukf.sk/intranet/vnutorne-predpisy/73-moja-ukf/3794-13-2020.

The recommended length of the dissertation is 80 to 120 pages (144,000 to 216,000 characters including spaces). The student/author is obliged to submit the thesis in electronic form via the information system. The electronic submission of the thesis must be in PDF format from which the textual information can be extracted (the document must not be a scanned version of the printed version of the thesis; software available through the DOC system can be used to produce the PDF format in the required form: https://doc.ukf.sk in the Software of the Faculty of Central European Studies of the CPU in Nitra - Freeware - freely accessible software section). The submission of the thesis is accompanied by a license agreement and a confirmation of electronic submission of the thesis. If the author requests a grace period longer than 12 months in the submitted draft license agreement, he/she shall simultaneously submit to the University a justification for the requested extension of the grace period, the validity of which shall be assessed by the Dean. The student/author shall create the license agreement and the confirmation of electronic submission of the thesis through the information system when submitting the thesis in electronic form. The originality (the degree of conformity of the thesis text with the database of original texts) of the thesis is also assessed in the Central Register of Theses and Dissertations through the information system. Verification and obtaining the Originality Check Protocol is a condition for the defence of the thesis. The thesis is evaluated by the supervisor and one opponent. The supervisor and the opponent of the final thesis are determined by the head of the training department. The supervisor and the referee shall make an assessment of the thesis via the AIS by completing the designated form. The assessment focuses primarily on the assessment of: the topicality and difficulty of the assigned topic of the thesis; the orientation of the student in the given issue, especially through the analysis of domestic and foreign literature; the suitability of the chosen methods of processing the problem addressed; the formulation of the objectives of the thesis and the degree of their fulfillment; the scope and level of the achieved results; the analysis and interpretation of the results and the formulation of the conclusions of the thesis; the applicability of the results in practice; the clarity and logical structure of the thesis; the formal, linguistic, and stylistic level of the thesis. The review also includes an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of the thesis, recommendations, questions or suggestions for the defence of the thesis and a proposed final evaluation of the thesis. The evaluations must be made available to the student at least one week prior to the thesis defense via AIS. In the case of a thesis assessment with a difference of more than 2 grades between the supervisor's and the opponent's assessment, the Head of Department will ask both assessors to reconsider their assessments or arrange for a further assessment to be made. If the dissertation is evaluated by the supervisor or the opponent with the classification grade FX, the student has the right to defend the dissertation. The defence of the thesis is a part (subject) of the state examination. The dates of state examinations, including dissertation defences, are set out in the timetable of the relevant academic year. The student shall register for the state examination at the study department according to the timetable of the academic year. The dissertation defence is organized by the chair of the examination committee after the following conditions have been fulfilled: submission of the protocol on the result of the originality check of the thesis in the AIS system, submission of the supervisor's and opponent's opinions, presence of at least one of the thesis assessors. In the case of a negative opinion, the personal presence of the respective supervisor or opponent at the thesis defence is required. A student who has registered for a regular or remedial state examination and does not attend the state examination for serious and demonstrable reasons may apologize in writing to the examination committee via the study department within three working days of the date of the state examination - thesis defence. Unexcused absence shall be evaluated with the grade FX. As a rule, the course of the dissertation defence is as follows: brief presentation of the thesis (objectives and achieved results) by the student, presentation of the evaluations, student's opinion on the comments of the evaluators (it must be obvious that the student has studied the issue based on their comments), discussion, during which the student answers the questions of the committee members. The dissertation defence is public. The results of the dissertation defence are entered by the chair into the state examination protocol in the AIS, the printed protocol is signed by the chair and the members of the committee, and together with the opinion of the supervisor and the opponent it is handed over to the Study Department of the Faculty of Central European Studies.  The result of the defence is valid on the basis of the vote and decision of the majority of the committee members present. In the event that the student fails to defend the dissertation, the Examination Committee shall justify its decision and determine the next course of action. If the student fails to defend the thesis even within the correction period, he/she shall be expelled from studies pursuant to § 66 (1) (c) of the Act. The dissertation associated with the defence shall be considered as a subject of the state final examinations and shall be evaluated by the number of credits specified in the study plan of the relevant study programme.

10. - Feedback on the quality of provided education
a) - Procedures for monitoring and evaluating students' opinions on the study programme quality.

Monitoring of the quality of the study programme is carried out once a year by means of an anonymous questionnaire survey.

The questions of the questionnaires are formulated in such a way that all ESG standards are assessed as far as possible.

The completed questionnaires are processed using the EvaSys system, which allows us to evaluate some areas also in comparison with the processed results from previous years.

As part of the survey, students can also anonymously point out possible negative phenomena and make suggestions for improving the conditions of study at Faculty of Central European Studies.

The questionnaire survey will provide information on the following areas of study: study programme, study course, delivery of education, evaluation of students by the teacher, professional and didactic competence of the teacher, study resources to support student learning, material and technical provision of teaching and to ensure that students are informed about the various challenges (Erasmus+, conferences, scholarships, etc.) - the questions are formulated in accordance with ESG 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

b) - Results of student feedback and related measures to improve the study programme quality.

Relevant parts of the evaluated results are provided to individual teachers and the summative evaluations for each department are delivered to supervisors. Heads of department individually address any problems, if any, that may have arisen.

If necessary, the person with the relevant competences and the main responsibility for the implementation, development and quality assurance of the curriculum makes a proposal for revision or preventive measures.

On the basis of the evaluation of the individual areas and the identified shortcomings, measures are proposed and taken, which are normally incorporated into the Faculty's action plan for education and implemented as part of the curriculum modification. The report on the evaluation of teacher education at the Faculty of Central European Studies by students is also discussed by the Academic Senate and the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Central European Studies.

The results of the student evaluation feedback are processed and published on the faculty's website:

https://www.fss.ukf.sk/index.php/sk/uradna-tabula/hodnotenia-studentmi

https://www.fss.ukf.sk/sk/uradna-tabula/vyrocne-spravy

c) - Results of graduate feedback and related measures to improve the study programme quality.

In 2019, the Faculty of Central European Studies organized an online survey for the Faculty's alumni. The data collection was conducted using an anonymous online questionnaire survey. Statistical evaluation of alumni responses was done using the EvaSys system:

https://www.fss.ukf.sk/images/dokumenty/2022/02/07/Hodnotenie/sprava_hodnotenie_vzdelavania_absolventmi_2019_FSS.pdf

The questionnaires consisted of 6 headings of questions that focused on the evaluation of different areas of study and the position of graduates in the labour market.

Based on the data obtained by the graduates' evaluation of their education, it was easier to identify potential problems that became evident only after the graduates had entered the faculty's practice. The department also monitors the employability of graduates of the study programme through external information sources providing information on the employability of graduates in practice at https://uplatnenie.sk/.
